Halloween 2014

Although I had a lot of fun decorating, halloween was very quiet here - a handful of small kids came by and then it was empty by 7:30. Next time I may hang around at a friend's house, they have crowds going through.

With ambient lighting.

Halloween in progress

Paper mache props made for halloween 2014. Eyes on the gator candy dispenser made from plastic Easter eggs, eyes on the cat and owls are from resin poured into paint dishes - yellow led lights installed behind eyes. Cat teeth and claws made from sculpey clay. Sponges cover the gator teeth for safety reasons.

Halloween 2013

Paper mache props built this year: werewolf and mummy candy dispenser. Also rigged an mp3 player and motion sensor to an arduino board to play roaring noises, should be entertaining for the kids.

Halloween 2012

Halloween props from last year, built from paper mache. The bat has a motor for opening the mouth and lights. Turns out paper mache doesn't hold up well when you make large creatures without reinforcement, I ended up leaving the stuffing in the spiders to help maintain the shape. Next time I'll try using chicken wire as an understructure.

Decorations going up, spiders were the theme.

Large spider and pumpkins.

Medium spider.

Bat over door.

Bat blinking lights.

Frog candy dispenser.
Kids seemed to like reaching in for candy.
